It's the filter that matters

Correctly used, the ÖWAMAT oil-water separator guarantees trouble-free condensate treatment. Attention must however be paid to the question of filters: Inadequate filters lead to poor separation results and a shorter service life of the filters. This is a problem that will cause unnecessary expenditure. The high performance and reliable function of the ÖWAMAT are only assured with original filters: OEKOSORB replacement filters from BEKO.

OEKOSORB replacement filters have been especially developed for this type of application. The combination of oleophilic prefilter and activated carbon filter is adapted exactly to the ÖWAMAT system. Maintaining a high quality standard for the selection and processing of the filter materials is a top priority for BEKO, so as to ensure the high efficiency of OEKOSORB replacement filters at all times.

OEKOSORB activated carbon has to satisfy special requirements of safe and economic condensate treatment. Numerous tests and many years of experience with a large variety of compressor condensates have shown that the usual standards for activated carbon are not sufficient here.

For this reason, BEKO has defined its own standards specifically tailored to this application. Only activated carbon that has passed our permanent tests and corresponds to the BEKO test standard is used in our OEKOSORB replacement filters.

The tested quality of the OEKOSORB materials is the basis for the safety and economic efficiency characterizing modern condensate treatment. Furthermore, the guaranty approval granted to the ÖWAMAT is only valid on condition that original OEKOSORB replacement filters are used.

• The conical shape permits accurate fitting of the OEKOSORB filters. This eliminates bypass flow and promotes well-balanced kinetic adsorption over the whole filtration cycle, i.e., optimum distribution and flow of the condensate through the filter.
   
  
• The oleophilic fibre material of the prefilter safely retains free oil residues and dirt, thereby increasing the service life of the activated carbon unit located downstream.
   
• The activated carbon employed has a high degree of porosity. The very coarse pore distribution and the large inner surface of the pores allow a maximum adsorption of free oil residues.
   
• The grain sizes of OEKOSORB activated carbon and their percentage distribution have been exactly determined. As a result, the filter bed offers ideal flow conditions, while very finely dispersed oil particles are effectively adsorbed.
   
• OEKOSORB replacement filters possess a low bulk density. Compared with conventional filters, they provide a greater contact surface for the oil-water mixture, so that the cleaning efficiency is greater and the service life longer.
