1 warm, moisture saturated compressed air is cooled down to +3 °C. The generously dimensioned heat exchanger enables particularly effective cooling, while the flow resistance is reduced to an absolute minimum. 2 Contrary to conventional systems, the movement of air through the heat exchanger follows a downward pattern. The effects of gravity produce an exceptionally high droplet separartion efficiency. In the large condensate collection space, the flow velocity is greatly reduced. Re-entraining of previously separated droplets is thus reliably prevented. 3 Before leaving the dryer
unit, the dried, cold compressed air is reheated in an air-to-air heat
exchanger. During this process, the relative humidity of the air is lowered
considerably and the same time up to 60 % of the cooling energy is recovered. 4 The separated condensate is discharged, without wastage of compressed air, from the DRYPOINT® RA refrigeration dryer into the level-controlled BEKOMAT® condensate drain. It can then be treated according to requirements, for example, in an ÖWAMAT ® oil/water separation system or a BEKOSPLIT® emulsion splitting plant. |
